Kris Brand
My name is Kris Brand and I’m an invested resident, husband, father, and son to 3 generations of Brentwood residents. I’ve enthusiastically served on the Brentwood Planning Commission for 3 years as well as on multiple committees within the Brentwood Unified School District. I bring a broad and comprehensive outlook to suffice the needs of District 2 residents.
Family First
First and foremost, I am a father. My wife, Jazmine, and I are high school sweethearts, and have been married for 13 years. Together we have four miracle children: Dean (7.5yo), James (5yo), and twin girls, Eloise (3yo) and Dorothy (3yo). Our boys are proud Otters at Brentwood's newest school, Isaac R. Montanez Elementary. I am enthusiastic to serve as your next District 2 Councilman because I feel the interests of young families are underrepresented in our city.
Like many, I escaped the tumultuous South Bay specifically seeking Brentwood’s charm and character to raise my young family in peace. Our children represent the essence of Brentwood’s roots and will eventually become our future. The 3 core principles that have shaped our city are our award winning schools, safe neighborhoods, and quality of life. I aim to amplify these traditions of the past that inspired Brentwood to its greatness today as the “Jewel of East County”. Brentwood needs more family friendly businesses, housing, and activities to support our next generation’s growth.
Since moving to Brentwod, my family and I have enjoyed the plethora of family focused activities including the weekly Farmers Market and the Makers Blvd, OctkoberFest, the numerous holiday parades, agrotouriusm such as cherry picking and pumpkin patches, and of course Brentwoods' suberp parks and playgrounds.

Local Leadership
Shortly after moving to Brentwood, Kris became involved in local issues with a major proposed project that would have required significant general plan and zoning amendments. He was then appointed to the Planning Commission in which he expressed significant insight into Brentwood project proposals that heavily weighed the local resident impacts over special interests. In tandem, his participation on the Contra Costa County TRANSPLAN committee has given him a unique look into the public transit needs of the community and how they can tailor specifically to the interests of Brentwood residents. Education is a top priority for Kris as he serves on the inaugural School Site Council for the Isaac Montanez Elementary School, leading a vision of community driven involvement that fosters a culture of learning. As to support the growing student demand in the district, he is a founding member of the Coalition to Open the Isaac Montanez Middle School. At the district level, he provides insight into the Measure B Citizen Oversight Committee's fiscal oversight of the intended infrastructure refreshes for the Brentwood Unified School District. He is also a proud member of the Brentwood Lions Club, the East Contra Costa Historical Soceity, as well as a supporter of many local non-profits. He and his family enjoy spending their time at civic events, celebrations, and fundraisers, and he was especially honored to get to serve as an announcer at Brentwood's 2026 4th of July Parade.

Diversified Background - Innovative Future
Kris grew up mostly in Southern California, with a few years in Tokyo, Japan. After completing his undergrad and Masters degrees, he and his wife moved to the Bay Area. Kris works professionally as a technical program manager in the consumer electronics manufacturing industry. He oversees the development of products that are sold worldwide. Kris uses this skillset to make effective, timely decisions that heavily weigh long term impacts. In addition, his profession takes him throughout the world where he participates in diverse and thriving cultures and communities.
He is also a professionally trained classical musician with a love for the arts that's extended from his childhood, and is an avid automotive enthusiast. His varied interests and experiences have taught him to approach challenges with a comprehensive and holistic mindset, as well strengthened his creative and innovative problem solving strategies.
